Mrs. Eugenia Pierre was elected to the House of Representatives in 1991. She served as a Minister of Government until 1995 when she left politics. "Jean", as she was more popularly known, was a national netball player and captain of the Trinidad and Tobago team. She was the recipient of the Nation's Highest award, the Trinity Cross, for her sporting achievement.
