Mrs. Gloria Thomasos-Pollard was elected to represent the Constituency of Arima as a member of the National Alliance for Reconstruction in 1986 (3rd Republican Parliament). Mrs. Pollard was the daughter of Mr. Clytus Arnold Thomasos, the longest serving Speaker of the House in the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.

Mrs. Thomasos Pollard passed away on January 3, 2000. Tribute was paid to her in the House of Representatives on January 14, 2000 and in the Senate on January 18, 2000.
