Mr. Gary Griffith was appointed Minister of National Security on Friday September 6, 2013. He previously served as a Temporary Opposition Senator during the 8th Republican Parliament.

Mr. Griffith was a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force for 15 years, where he attained the rank of Captain. He was appointed Commissioner of Police of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service in 2018.
