The Honourable Eulalie James
Ms. Eulalie James first entered Parliament as a Member of the House of Representatives, having contested and won the Laventille West seat in 1994 in a bye-election following the death of Mr. Morris Marshall. Ms. James would continue serving in this capacity in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Republican Parliaments (1995-2007).
During her tenure Ms. James served on a number of Parliamentary Committees. She also gained a reputation for consistency in attendance at Parliamentary sittings, only being absent on the rarest of occasions, the longest stint occurring when she had to have one of her legs amputated.
Prior to entering Parliament, Ms. James served in local government in the Port-of-Spain Corporation, where she was Deputy Mayor.
Ms. James passed away on October 21, 2011.
