Dr. Deborah McFee was first appointed a Temporary Independent Senator on November 14, 2025.

Dr. McFee has worked in the area of gender and development since 1998. She holds a BA in History and Political Science from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, and an MA in the Politics of Alternative Development from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague. She graduated in 2019 with her PhD in Global Governance and Human Security from the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies, Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance, University of Massachusetts (Boston).
