Mr. Chandresh L. D. Sharma was appointed Minister of Local Government on May 28, 2010.

Mr. Sharma was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1991 and since that time has represented the constituency of Fyzabad. Between 1995 and 2001 Mr. Sharma served in Government in several Ministries as a Parliamentary Secretary and as a Non-Cabinet Minister. He then served in Opposition between December 2001 and May 2010.

Mr. Sharma is married and a father of four.
