Mr. Ashworth Jack first entered Parliament as a Temporary Government Senator in the 13th Republican Parliament.

Mr. Jack previously served as Minority Leader in the Tobago House of Assembly, and was the political leader of the Tobago Organisation of the People (TOP), which was one of the constituent parties of the UNC Alliance, which won the Trinidad and Tobago General Election in 2010.
