INVITATION FOR WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS
INQUIRY INTO THE SYSTEM OF CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT WITHIN THE PUBLIC SERVICE
The Public Administration and Appropriation Committee (PAAC) has the duty of considering and reporting to the House, inter alia, on the administration of Government agencies to determine hindrances to their efficiency and to make recommendations to the Government for improvement of public administration.
The PAAC has commenced an inquiry into the system of contract employment within the Public Service.
The Committee will be considering the following matters:
Problems in the Public Sector as it relates to Contract Employment such as delays in contract renewals, inappropriate terms and conditions for employees and other problems;
Current measures to be implemented to address the various problems and the parties accountable;
Significant number of vacancies within the Public Sector;
Initiatives to be undertaken to address the number of vacancies and the parties accountable.
As part of its inquiry process, the Committee is inviting all stakeholders and interested persons to submit written comments/suggestions related to the above-mentioned objectives.
Written submissions should be addressed to the Secretary to the Committee as stated below and can be forwarded via email to paac@ttparliament.org or in hard copy.
