The Joint Select Committee on Social Services and Public Administration is commencing an inquiry into the impact of contract employment on the efficiency of the public service.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INQUIRY
- To gather information on the prevalence of Contract Employment in Ministries and Statutory bodies
- To examine the terms and conditions of employment of contract workers;
- To assess the adequacy of existing arrangements in place to manage and/or regulate contract employment
- To attempt to evaluate the impact contract employment has had on the efficiency of the Public Service
The Committee is therefore inviting members of the public to submit written comments, suggestions and recommendations on this matter. Members of the public are reminded that submissions should observe the principles of relevance, clarity, conciseness and accuracy.
All submissions should contain your name and address, or the name and address of the association or organization making the submission.
