Haji Ralph Dastoor Khan served as a Senator in the 3rd Republican Parliament. He was appointed an Opposition Senator in 1990, following the appointment of Mr. Basdeo Panday to the office of Leader of the Opposition on September 10, 1990.

Haji Khan passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2008. Tributes were paid to him in the Senate on Tuesday February 12, 2008 by Senator Wade Mark, who was also appointed to the Senate on September 10, 1990 (the same day as Haji Khan), Senator the Honourable Conrad Enill and Senator Prof. Ramesh Deosaran.
