Mission
To provide professional and administrative service and advice
to the President and Members of the Senate.
The Office of the Clerk of the Senate provides apolitical services
to support the efficient conduct of the Senate, its committees and certain
joint committees as well as a range of services and facilities to the
President and Senators in the exercise of their legislative function.
The Clerk of the Senate is the Deputy Head of the Office of the Parliament.
In the exercise of her parliamentary responsibilities, the Clerk of
the Senate acts under the general directions of the President of the
Senate, the Clerk of the House, the Standing Orders of the Senate and
the practices of the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Clerk is also guided by the procedures and practice of the British
House of Lords and may also refer to practices in other Commonwealth
Parliaments.
