Remarks:
  • The Bill seeks, inter alia, to establish a Fair Trading Commission, to promote and maintain effective competition in the economy and to ensure that competition is not distorted, restricted or prevented in Trinidad and Tobago to the detriment of the community. It would also establish a Community Competition Commission that would deal with issues involving anticompetitive conduct in another member state which has the effect of lessening competition in Trinidad and Tobago.
